hey livejournal friends! i haven't been here in a while (3 months since my last post) and thought i might come by and say hello. my new job has been going well and i've already gone on three work-related trips. Just got back from southern california, which was absolutely beautiful.

In other news, i've been pleasantly surprised with two front page features thanks to propercandy. I've been busy with other things lately, but should be back in full force with new designs within the next month or two. I've got a new camera also which I'm in love with right now, so hopefully better jewelry pictures will be coming.



Also... my little sister graduated college and just started graduate school. I'm so proud of her. :)

i'm grumpy and want to eat bowls and bowls of ice cream but i'm going to stop myself. for some odd reason i feel wildly hungry... maybe that's whats making me so cranky.

these shoes cheer me up a little bit...

wow, today has been busy. while i was scraping the ice off of my car this morning, i managed to lock my keys, purse and work laptop in the car while it was running. a very sweet girl who lives across the street was very helpful and i'm so grateful for it.

i ddn't exercise today, but i did yesterday and feel good about it. i also voted and made it back for the second round! i almost expected myself to flake out and not go for whatever reason i convinced myself was good enough to skip, but i've been trying to stop myself from doing those things lately. it really is less stressful this way. but it does leave me less time to work on jewelry.. i just got in some new supplies and i'm ready to get back to it.. we'll see.

anyway, the real reason i was posting was so that i can share this link with my sister and so that she'll make me some nutella ice cream.

the wind is really loud tonight. i turned off all the noise making objects in the house so i could listen to it for a while. the cats keep looking out the window... i dreamt about tornados a few nights ago... the sounds have me thinking of them with every whoosh and branch that hits my window... my eyes feel droopy so i think i should go to sleep now.

hi livejournal! it feels like ages since i've been here...

i've been pushing myself lately to keep making jewelry, but have definitely fallen into a rut. these days i feel more like cleaning and organizing my house than making things, but hopefully this will pass and i'll be back in full force. i like to think that sometimes you just need a break and then can come back inspired and fresh.

now that i've been at the new job a few weeks, i can feel myself slowly letting go of all the tension and stress that i had built up over the last few years. the first weekened after i left i did almost nothing but sleep... it was so nice since i had been having problems sleeping for so long. maybe that's why i'm so energized to organize right now, it seems i've found the energy to do the things i had been neglecting for so long. i've even gotten to catch up with some old friends, which has meant a lot to me

ok! so i just woke up from a 2 hour nap and i'm terribly groggy. so what did i do to help myself wake up? eat some ice cream of course, and while trying to push my cat away from my bowl, i knocked over a glass and now have to clean up the mess. meh.

today was my first day my new job... it went pretty well. my desk was by a window at my last job and i was pleasantly surprised that my new one is also! not only that, but i'm on the 11th floor and can see the ferris wheel from the state fair from my desk. ahhhhhh, so nice.

i think the name of the blog pretty much describes what i've been writing about. at my sweet sisters request, here is a picture of a necklace i finished last week. i ADORE this one and need to order more of these supplies so i can make some more.. only have enough for one necklace right now and i want to make one for myself.

i am officially a senior! just got the offer letter and i don't feel old enough to have it, but here is my new title: Senior Category Analyst

today was one of those days where i made my list of chores and went through them one by one. i got some things done that i've been thinking about for a long time, so i won't have those nagging things distracting me from doing laundry and washing dishes. oh wait, i have the internet for that.

i've made a bunch of new stuff this week, it should all be listed by tomorrow, but here's a shot of my geometric earrings and beachy starfish necklace.

This made me laugh.

i was sitting on my bed tonight and noticed basil was concentrating very hard on the wall. he was so intrigued and excited over this tiny bug, you would have thought he was hunting an ice cream-flavored bird. i was cracking myself up over this until i realized that i was doing the very same thing. i had devoured half a jar of mrs. renfro's habanero salsa and my el milagro chips like it was the first time i had ever eaten them and i wouldn't be able to get them ever again. i started to curse mrs. renfro for all the nights i had filled up on chips and skpped dinner... since its obviously her fault. sometimes i crack myself up.. so i take it all back mrs. renfro.

sigh.. i love dinosaur comics so much.

happy new year everyone!

it feels like i haven't written here in a while.. things have been so busy lately. i was hoping to do one of those nice little recaps of 2007 but haven't really gotten around to it. i did make a new years resolution, though, which i don't usually do, but its just necessary at his point. no more junk food. most of my clothes don't fit me anymore and i don't want to buy new clothes, so i have no choice but to lose the extra weight. we'll see how it goes.

in other news, i have an interview tomorrow that i hope goes well! its so close to where i live and the people sound really nice. i wasn't nervous about the interview until i talked to the recruiter who tried to 'prepare me' but she only ended up making me nervous. also, she said to wear a suit, which i don't have and it doesn't help that most of my clothes are not fitting me these days. oh and not to sound whiney, but i'm also concerned about dressing up on casual friday and making my co-workers suspicious as i leave for a 'doctors appointment' in the middle of the afternoon all dressed up and such. basically, i'm frightened!

my jewelry class starts next week, so i'll get to learn how to cut metal, solder and all that fun stuff! being able to work with metal makes me feel tough. i've felt a little stuck lately when it comes to my jewelry, so i'm hoping this will help get me going. i bought some spools of bulk chain thinking it would help me make more and more necklaces, but all thats happened is that i'm tempted to just drape myself in tons and tons of textured chains.

So, this was a fairly productive weekend for jewelry... and naps! It's too bad that another workweek starts tomorrow, but it has to be done. Here are a few of the earrings from the weekend.. more to come.

ok! so, after four days of post-thanksgiving stomach virus misery, i am back and eating solid foods! thanksgiving was really fun, we went to jim and jeannie's house where i got to have a fun boxing session with their daughter... it's a little crazy that she's almost as tall as me and she's only 8.
